Discovery Ecosophy

This paper encompasses the principles of environmental studies because it looks at the sciences, humanities, theories, religions, policies and systemic thinking that has shaped the South Coast Bioregion. I discuss the ethics of how humans who have settled in the South Coast Bioregion have shaped the relationship with the land. I challenge my audience to “rediscover” and reprioritize primal harmony with the bioregion.

Deep History of South Coast Bioregion

In this paper I take a deep dive into the origins of the land by looking back millions of years ago at how the land geologically formed and how Paleo-indians inhabited the South Coast Bioregion. I wrap up the paper addressing how Spanish and European colonialism has impacted the South Coast Bioregion.

Comparative Phylogeny, gEologic and History of Osprey (Pandion Haliateus spp.) and Great Egret (Ardea Alba spp.)

The Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus spp.) and Great Egret (Ardea Alba spp.) are both very unique taxa due to their cosmopolitain abilities. I compare these two species by taking a deep dive into phylogeny, and the impacts of plate tectonic history, climatic history, and the Pleistocene glaciation.

Comparative Ecological Biogeography of Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus spp.) and Great Egret (ardea alba spp.)

This paper gives an overview of the distribution and migration patterns of the Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus spp.) and Great Egret (Ardea Alba spp.). I discuss the nutrient requirements, competition and nesting and reproduction of both species. I close the paper with discussing how both species were endangered from DDT.

Comparative Biogeography of The Osprey (Pandion Haliateus spp.) and the Great Egret (Ardea Alba spp.)

If you are looking to take a deep dive in learning more about the Osprey and Great Egret than this paper is perfect for you. This paper demonstrates my understanding of environmental studies principles because it not only includes physical and genetic features of both bird species but also looks at their relationship to humans and the geological formation of the land they reside in.

The Clean air act

Environmental Law and Policy is a crucial component of environmental studies. In this group paper, I demonstrate my ability too critically think about a case and determine how law intersects with the environment and people. My group and I take a deep dive into the Clean Air Act (CAA) and how the EPA and state agencies play a role in the standards for clean air.
