Mission

Our mission is to enhance environmental literacy amongst students, teachers, school staff, and community members, by providing comprehensive resources that take a community-based approach, creating a stronger bond between schools and environmental community groups and spaces.

Vision

Our vision is a community that engages with each other and the environment in a way that understands the relationship and interconnectedness of the overall ecosystem. We will enhance the tools, resources, and connections the community, students, and teachers have to provide knowledge, awareness, and promote environmental literacy amongst youth.

Meet the Team

Founder
Growing up I spent a lot of time outdoors. On the few weekends I wasn’t playing soccer my family would go on weekend camping trips. I was born in raised in Huntington Beach, California. While my city is rich with biodiversity, I failed to make a connection with nature in my own bioregion. I always thought “nature” was elsewhere. It wasn’t until I was in college studying for my undergraduate dual degree in International Studies and Chinese Studies that I realized how cultures shape their relationship with the land. As I was wrapping up my undergraduate degree I was eager to learn more about the environment I was a part of and the nature right outside my window. I applied myself to the Master of Science in Environmental Studies because I sought an interdisciplinary approach to studying the environment. Fast forward to now, I have acquired an abundance of knowledge on the environmental principles within my bioregion. When I reflect on my childhood and envision my future career path, I strive to close the gap on environmental literacy for educators and provide community-based approaches. I believe that by utilizing community-based resources, students can grow a stronger connection with the environment that surrounds them on a daily basis.
